Lux eighth in Detroit competition
DETROIT -- Yakima natiive Cindi Lux recorded her third top-10 finish of the Sports Car Club of America SPEED World Challenge Series on
Monday, claiming eighth place in competition at the
Belle Isle track.
Lux, who races out of Aloha, Ore., had earlier finished fifth and ninth on the circuit, had what her crew termed arguably her best race of the season.
She was given the Racing Electronics Holeshot Award for gaining four positions on the race's first lap, and the Sunoco Hard Charger Award for passing that many cars.
"Racing in the Motor City was probably the coolest race I have done in a very long time," Lux said in a news release. "It was amazing to have all the Viper and Mopar fans out there. You could feel them pushing you forward every lap."
